Alexander Radulescu works as director for theater and TV in Hamburg.
He made his debut in 2005 with The Abduction from the Seraglio in Augsburg, followed by many national and international productions, including the highly praised staging of Le Nozze di Figaro at the National Opera Bucharest, Menuchims Reise and Sehnsucht nach Isfahan in Bremen and Was bleibt von deinem Zauber, Flöte? at the Hamburg State Opera.
Alexander Radulescu regularly creates and directs theaterproductions with international professionals in collaboration with young people. With the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and the GSO Bremen he produced several Operas, which combined the experience of this international acclaimed Orchestra and the potential of one of the most interesting schools in Germany.
Together with the kulturforum21 he developed and staged numerous youth theater productions during the last years, among these the production bewegt!, a dance theater project with John Neumeier's National Youth Ballet and more than 350 students from Hamburg, performed at Kampnagel Hamburg.
Alexander Radulescu has a teaching assignment as drama teacher at the Music University Hamburg and regularly gives masterclasses for singers.
He also works as TV-director, with focus on music-, theater- and dance-films.
Many TV-productions for arte, NDR, SWR, as well as DVD-productions resulted from that work.
After his Violin studies at the Music University in Düsseldorf Alexander Radulescu studied stage-direction in Hamburg. He was scholar of the Deutsche-Bank-foundation "Akademie Musiktheater heute". For his production mozart - ein singspiel he won the sponsorship prize of the Deutsche Bank.
